Asomi – The community of Assamese diaspora in Pune registered under the Societies Registration Act 1860 (Reg.No MAH/1369/2014/PUNE) is working towards bridging the gap between the North East and Maharashtra by undertaking many socio-cultural activities. The activities are organized by the members of the Assamese community residing in Pune and also by inviting artists and prominent personalities from Assam and other states of the North East to showcase the rich cultural heritage and spread awareness about Assam and North East in the region. We believe, through cultural exchanges, we can foster a great relationship between both the regions, i.e. Maharashtra and the North East, and also bring the much required visibility and cultural integration between both the regions.
ASOMI can not only serve to build a greater Assamese socio-cultural community at Pune but also act as a bridge between the Assamese community and the various communities residing at Pune.
